About Ted Hickey

Greetings and salutations. Just a wee bit about my career background and accomplishments. My first and only job straight out of university (1993) was with a small boutique specialty life and health insurance company. This company, whom I was employed with until the end of 2023 (30 years), focused on the unique needs of Canada’s self-employed business owners (usually under 10 full time employees). These business owners are primarily in the “skilled trades”, agriculture (family farming operations) and the transportation industry (owner operators). As the clients work in medium to higher risk industries and are self-employed they face a number of challenges, when it comes to protecting their most valuable asset, themselves.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

* The highest total volume of sales between 1994 and 2004

* Achieved top status in every sales campaign I was involved in my role as a full time producer

* Built multiple “scratch” new accounts (cold call) sales teams in Southwestern Ontario and in the Ottawa region.

* Managing Partner (Regional Director) in our London, GTA, and Ottawa operations

* 3 years as “National Director of Business Development and Training” along with writing our national sales training manuals
